The Arizona Health Facilities Authority has approved the financing application of Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) in the amount of $298,675,000. CHW is a California nonprofit corporation headquartered in San Francisco, California. The CHW system operates 40 hospitals throughout California, Arizona and Nevada. CHW's facilities include approximately 7,400 licensed acute care beds and approximately 1,100 licensed skilled nursing beds. 750 of the licensed beds are in Arizona.

CHW proposes to use the funds to finance or refinance various projects, including to (i) construct, relocate and renovate and purchase imaging equipment for St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix; (ii) build the Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, a 120 bed acute care facility in Gilbert; (iii) purchase medical diagnostic equipment for Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler; and (iv) purchase information technology equipment and software for the Corporate IT Office in Phoenix.
