Phoenix Children's Hospital Receives Approval for $45,000,000

Phoenix, AZ

The Arizona Health Facilities Authority approved an application from Phoenix Children's Hospital for $45,000,000 in bond financing. Proceeds from the offering will be utilized to pay or reimburse the Hospital for a portion of the costs for completing the renovation of and equiping a pediatric hospital facility and related outpatient and support facilities in Phoenix.

In 1999, the Hospital acquired an existing general acute care hospital located approximately two miles from the Hospital's current location. The existing facilities at the new campus included a five-story, 290 bed hospital building, two medical office buildings and a 14,000 square foot service building. The proceeds of this bond issue will be used to pay or reimburse the Hospital for a portion of the costs for the renovation of these facilities in connection with the development of its new pediatric hospital and the acquisition of equipment to be used at the new campus.
