Blood Systems, Inc. has received approval from the Arizona Health Facilities Authority for $4,359,000 in financing to purchase new equipment. Blood Systems, Inc. is the sole provider of blood services for all of Arizona except certain areas of the Tucson metropolitan area and a small number of hospitals in the Phoenix metropolitan area. In addition, Blood Systems, Inc. maintains community blood centers and satellite donor centers to serve more than 600 hospitals in a geograhic area covering more than one-third of the United States. The proceeds of the bonds will be used to purchase new laboratory testing equipment.
